If you are thinking about volunteering, we would love to have the opportunity to meet you and share the many ways you can volunteer at LifeLinks. Many years ago, LifeLinks was formed by volunteers and today volunteers are still an important part of the organization. You can volunteer for one hour, once a month, twice a week, on Fridays, on Mondays, on weekends, or even once a year. Let us know your interests and we will find a way to use your skills and time.

Volunteers do a variety of things to help LifeLinks serve people with disabilities. In some cases, volunteers provide services that we wouldn’t be able to provide otherwise. For example, every month on a Friday night, volunteers sponsor a dance at the LifeLinks Community Center. They serve pizza, make desserts, collect dance fees, take folks out on the dance floor and ensure that everyone who attends has a great time. Once a year volunteers help LifeLinks host a holiday party which includes a gala dinner, gifts from Santa and dancing to the tunes of a DJ. Volunteers register guests, hang coats, seat people and ensure that the 300+ people who attend have a grand time. Throughout the year volunteers make and buy holiday gifts for people with disabilities who live alone in the community. Then, a few weeks before Christmas, they gather to festively wrap each gift.

Individuals and groups plant flowers at our group homes, rake leaves and help us ensure that our properties fit in with the local neighborhood. They paint rooms at our group homes and Community Center in bright colors and fun themes. They ensure that quarterly mailings announcing upcoming activities at LifeLinks are mailed in a timely manner.

Volunteers truly help keep LifeLinks operational. We have opportunities for individuals and for groups looking to do volunteer service projects through their employer or place of worship. We are grateful to all our volunteers who continue to find LifeLinks a worthy place to donate their personal time and energy. We hope you, too, will consider volunteering at LifeLinks.
