Employees hired into the residential or day habilitation functions as direct support staff or certified nursing assistants may apply for acceptance into LifeLinks Apprenticeship Program after completing six months of service with the agency.
Registered apprenticeship is a three year formalized, structured training program combining on the job training and related technical instruction in which paid employees receive practical and technical training related to their profession of direct support.
LifeLinks Apprenticeship Program is a Department of Labor recognized program.
Participants in apprenticeship are supported by an assigned mentor and are rewarded with pay increases or bonuses as they complete each of the three levels of the program.
Upon completing the apprenticeship program graduates are registered with the Department of Labor as Direct Support Specialists and each graduate receives a certificate from the Department of Labor recognizing their tremendous accomplishment.
