Community Connectors is a new and unique day habilitation service sponsored by LifeLinks for people who are developmentally disabled, have a capacity for employment, but are currently under or unemployed due to the current employment market and other obstacles beyond their control. Community Connectors honors peoples' desire to attend a program that provides them dignity, helps them improve self-esteem and increases their ability to participate in the community in a positive and useful way through community use and volunteerism.

A sample of activities the group enjoys in the local communities are:

• Visiting to the local libraries (research, internet usage, video usage, social skills).
• Creating beautiful works of art at AC Moore in Nashua in their arts-n-crafts room and also at Terri's Art Studio in Nashua.
• Participating as members of Mall Walkers at Pheasant Lane Mall
• Bowling at Leda Lanes or Brunswick Lanes
• Learning about Music and Book Appreciation at local bookstores and coffee shops.
• Attending Photography and Scrap Booking classes

Samples of volunteer opportunities the group participates in include:

• Adopt-A-Beach Program- members visit and care for 1/3 mile stretch at Hampton Beach 1-2x per month to keep it clean.
• United Way - members volunteer to make Elder & Baby baskets for those in need.
• Ironstone Farm - members "side-walk" with the horses and support other people with disabilities during their hippotherapy sessions.

If you are interested, here is some basic information. Community Connectors' hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 9 am - 3 pm.

  Eligible participants:

• need to be able to attend the program at least two days per week,
• have their own transportation (roadrunner/LRTA/personal),
• be eligible for Mass Health,
• be able to be successful in a ratio one professional staff to ten persons with disabilities.
